Receive a tax credit for installing Panorama window film in 2011

http://www.panoramafilm.com/Localization/Pan_US/Assets/Images/Photos/Tax_Credit_Couple.jpgThe Energy Policy Act of 2005 provides Federal tax credits for consumers who make certain energy-efficient improvements to their homes. This bill extends tax credits for energy efficient home improvements, such as energy saving window film.

Under section 25C of the Internal Revenue Code (I.R.C.), homeowners can receive a 10 percent credit on the costs of "qualified energy efficiency improvements," including Panorama solar control window film on windows, doors, and skylights. This tax credit applies only to improvements made to a primary residence from Jan. 1, 2011 through Dec. 31, 2011.

A tax credit is generally more valuable than an equivalent tax deduction because a tax credit reduces your tax dollar-for-dollar, while a deduction only removes a percentage of the tax that is owed. If you can itemize energy-related purchases on your federal income tax form, it will lower the total amount of tax you owe the government.

Homeowners can receive a 10 percent credit on the cost of the window film, up to $500. Installation costs do not apply, only the cost of the film.Window Film

Save On Your Energy Bills Now
Cooling costs related to the heat gained through windows can make up about 40 percent of a home's summer utility bill if your home has air conditioning. Solar control window film rejects up to 80 percent of the  total solar energy, which helps lower your energy consumption. And the energy savings benefits go on year after year, long after you have received the tax credit.

And the benefits don't stop there. In addition to energy savings all year long, window film also can:

  • Improve your comfort by eliminating hot spots and maintaining interior temperatures

  • Help protect your family from UV exposure, which can help prevent certain forms of skin cancer

  • Reduce glare

  • Reduce fading of furnishings and interiors

Eligibilityhttp://www.panoramafilm.com/Localization/Pan_US/Assets/Images/Photos/hanging_picture_sm.jpg
Any homeowner who purchases and installs qualifying Panorama brands of solar control window film (see manufacturer’s certification for eligible films) between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2011 is eligible to receive a tax credit.

How to Receive Credit
Complete IRS form 5695 and file 2011 Income Tax Returns by April 15, 2012. Maintain copies of the dealer invoice and the manufacturer’s certification statement for your records. If you are audited, you will need to provide these documents to the IRS.

Download Tax forms for 2011 will be available towards the end of 2011

This beautiful new home in Alpharetta, Georgia has a wall of glass that lets all of the outside light inside.  To prevent fading and to reduce heat gain, we installed Huper Optik Ceramic 40 in all of these windows.  The Ceramic 40 is so neutral in color tone that it's hard to tell that there is anything on them at all.

The damaging effects of the sun's rays are clearly visible in this photo.  The wood floor of this home was in very bad shape when we installed Ceramic 60 to the rear of the house.  The homeowner didn't realize just how bad the floors had been damaged until they bought a new rug to replace the old one.  This spurred them into tinting the windows before similar damage could occur to recently acquired furniture.

This private home in metro Atlanta took a week and a half to complete.  The rear of the house has a light reflective film to block afternoon heat.

This private home in the Roswell, Georgia area had a neutral 35% security film installed on nearly 800 individual panes of glass.

This beautiful condo overlooking Centennial Olympic Park suffered from excess heat gain due to oversized windows and an undersized air conditioning unit. Huper Optik Spectrally Selective Drei window film was just the answer. High light transmission along with 70% energy reduction makes this the perfect place to view downtown Atlanta’s attractions.

Another shot from the rear shows the large family room windows.  These units are over 30 feet tall.

Afternoon heat and glare were a real problem in this building where we've completed over two dozen individual homes.
