What is window
film?
Window films are
constructed of a polyester base and different types of metals and
composites that are sputtered onto the base. The average film contains
a UV inhibitor, an adhesive to attach it to the window, and a
scratch-resistant coating. The film is usually applied to the interior
surface of the window and is designed to reduce heat, glare, and fading.
How is your
product installed?
Our installers
come to your home or office and, after first thoroughly cleaning the
surface of the window, install the product on the inside of the window.
The film has its own mounting adhesive, so we only use soapy water for
the installation. There are no harsh chemicals or offensive odors. The
average installation can be completed in one day.
Will your
window film stop my furniture from fading?
Yes. Window films
have been proven to significantly reduce fading in your home and
office. But remember that fading is caused by visible light, heat, and
UV light, so some fading will always occur. By blocking the UV, which
is the biggest factor in fading, we can reduce the fading by nearly
half. It is also important to block as much heat and light as possible
to maximize your protection. At Metro Georgia Window Films, Inc. we
only use films that are proven to block 99-100 % of the ultraviolet
light.
Will your
products make my house dark?
No. We use the
most technologically advanced films on the market. These films, called
spectrally-selective films, block over half of the heat but allow almost
all of the visible light to come through. Your windows will retain the
natural, unaltered look you love while blocking the UV and keeping your
home cooler.
Does your
product really reduce heat?
Absolutely. But
don’t believe us. Most of our products are manufactured by U.S.
Department of Energy and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency,
ENERGY
STAR Partners. In addition, depending on where you live, you may be
eligible for a rebate through your electrical provider for your window
film installation.
Will your
product turn purple and bubble up?
No. All of our
products are guaranteed against bubbling, fading, or discoloration.
Unlike automotive films that typically last only a few years, our
products have a lifetime guarantee in your home and a ten to fifteen
year warranty in your office. If any problem occurs we will replace it.
I’ve heard
that window film can cause problems with my windows.
All of our
products come with a 5 year glass breakage warranty and a 3 year seal
failure warranty. Most glass manufacturers only guarantee their windows
for 2 years. In addition, we offer extended warranties to those of our
customers that require extra coverage. If you have a problem with an
in-warranty window, we will replace the glass and replace the film.
What types of
films do you carry and what are the differences?
At Metro Georgia
Window Films, Inc. we carry several different types of products designed
to meet your specific needs. Our base product is a high-end metallized
film similar to what you’ve probably seen in other homes and offices.
These films are efficient and inexpensive and have been the mainstay of
the window film market for nearly four decades. They are available in a
wide range of shades, from very light to extremely dark. We also carry
a complete line of ceramic films. These films have the same performance
aspects as the metallized films, but because they have no metal in them,
they are incredibly neutral in color and have very low reflectivity.
This results in a product that is less noticeable. Most people have a
hard time spotting these films once they are installed. Our most
advanced films, the spectrally-selective films, are designed to meet the
needs of our most discriminating clients. These films boast energy
reduction of 56-70% while allowing as much as 72% of the natural light
thru the window. And, because they are almost completely
non-reflective, you’ll never know they’re there, until you get your
power bill. These are the most advanced films on the market today.
How long has
Metro Georgia Window Films, Inc. been in business?
We have been
providing window film sales and service since 1988, since 1994 in the
Atlanta area.
Do you travel
outside of the perimeter?
Absolutely. We
not only travel outside the perimeter, but we provide nationwide sales
and service. We have completed large film installations in New York,
Rhode Island, Vermont, New Mexico, and Hawaii just to name a few.
Is window film
expensive?
Not at all. When
you compare the cost of an average window film installation with a
similar installation of blinds, shutters, or curtains, our products are
vary affordable. And none of these other products allow the light through
while blocking heat and UV. Most window film installations will pay for
themselves in just a couple of years through energy savings.
Do you charge
for an estimate?
Our estimates are
completely free of charge or obligation.
How can I
